In the article "Overshoot" I discovered that Over- shooting means to accidentally over do something without knowing it. In this article about over shooting it discusses how many people may over shoot on certain things. The first thing it made me think about was if people in the world have over- shot the amount of oil that they have burned over the last few centuries. It turns out that economically, people have over shot and it can lead to two different outcomes. One way is that something can crash and go wrong and then the second way is a correction. A correction is believed to lead to a positive influence in the world, while a crash isn't as positive. Further on in the reading, I learned that there are four particular lens to focus on the data of what is going on in the world. The four ways would be standard scientific and economical theories about the global system, data on the world’s resources and a computer model to help people interrogate this information. The fourth lens is the world’s view about these issues. This type of stuff can really help people avoid the problem of over- shooting on problems that will lead to bad consequences. One problem that has continuously over- shot over the last few centries is the expansion of people and the economy.

On page one, Aurbelio Peccei stated "The Future is no longer. . . what it might have been if humans had known how to use their brains and their opportunities more effectively. But the future can still become what we reasonably and realistically want." I believe that this quote really hits the over- shooting story because the economy is falling due to oil and money expenses, and people are also expanding across the globe. People in the world are unwise with the choices they make and they tend to over- shoot things especially with all the oil in the world that has been wasted.
